The Advocacy Director will lead the advocacy team, focusing on grassroots organizing and community relationships to drive policy change.ResponsibilitiesLead Walk SF's Advocacy Team and serve as chief advocacy campaign organizerGrow the grassroots base and deepen community relationshipsStrengthen the power-base for advocacy effortsEngage more people in Walk SF's work through social media and storytellingSupport advocacy campaigns with compelling content, public communications, and policy writingLead Safe Routes to School work and Walk AuditsSupport a wide range of Walk SF events from large fundraisers to smaller community meetingsServe as an essential organizer and logistics engine across the Advocacy TeamSkillsExperience in constituency development, coalition-building, and community organizingAbility to grow grassroots base and deepen community relationshipsStrong skills in advocacy campaign organizationExperience in engaging audiences through social mediaAbility to tell compelling stories that shift narratives around traffic safetyExperience in public communications and policy writingAbility to use data and systems to support effective communicationsExperience in hands-on programming, events, and outreachAbility to lead Safe Routes to School work and Walk AuditsExperience in organizing and logistics across teamsCompany OverviewWalk San Francisco is the city's pedestrian safety advocacy organization.
