This is a career ladder position, allowing for grade level progression from GL-9 to GS-11 to GS-12. Federal employment benefits, including health plans, generous leave policies, and a retirement plan similar to 401(k). Incentives: Recruitment Incentive: Up to $20,000 for newly appointed Agents. Retention Incentive: Eligible Agents may qualify for up to $40,000 distributed over their first four years. Key Responsibilities: Conducting surveillance and patrolling borders to deter illegal activities. Questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws and inspecting documents. Apprehending individuals involved in smuggling and illegal entry. Using advanced technology for operations, including surveillance and tracking. Engaging in various forms of law enforcement responsibilities while interacting with the community. Eligibility Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen with at least three years of primary residency. Age restriction applies; candidates must be referred before turning 40, with some exceptions for veterans. No education substitutions for GL-9 or GS-11 roles.
