As an Adjunct Faculty - Medical Coding, you will have the opportunity to:

Instruct students in medical coding (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level II) and develop strategies to promote academic success
Utilize effective classroom management techniques in our Learning Management System, D2L Brightspace
Evaluate student performance and continuously improve instruction to ensure Student Learning Outcomes are met
Maintain competency and currency in the teaching field, as well as in teaching strategies, subject delivery modalities, and assessment methods
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

The ideal candidate will possess:

Certification from AAPC or AHIMA
Experience teaching college-level courses, preferably online
Knowledge of medical billing and coding, including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level II
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse student learning styles
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in the classroom and beyond

Minimum qualifications include:

Arizona state residency
Bachelor's degree in the field of study and Coding Certification from AAPC or AHIMA, or equivalent combinations of education and experience
