Schedule: 8 hours/week | 16 hours/pay period | 64.5 total hours/8week course

Pay: Starting from $39/hour

The Casa Loma College, School of Business is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and academically qualified Adjunct Associate Professor, Public Administration to join our faculty within the School of Business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Adjunct Associate Professor, Public Administration is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and academic support within the Bachelor of Business Administration program. This role contributes to the teaching, scholarship, and service missions of the college promoting student learning, academic excellence, and professional growth. The Associate Professor works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and leadership to enhance program effectiveness, ensure academic integrity, and maintain alignment with institutional goals and accreditation standards. This position reports directly to the Chair, School of Business. Occasional travel may be required for faculty meetings, training, or institutional events held at Casa Loma College campuses or designated locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Instruction and Course Delivery
β€’ Develop, refine, and update course syllabi to include instructor-specific contact information, policies, and learning objectives.
β€’ Deliver online courses in accordance with established distance learning standards and instructional best practices.
β€’ Facilitate engaging, student-centered online discussions that promote critical thinking and application of course concepts.
β€’ Provide timely, constructive feedback on student assignments, assessments, and participation.
β€’ Maintain accurate and transparent grading practices and report grade-related information to students and administration.

Curriculum Development and Teaching
β€’ Teach undergraduate-level courses in areas such as healthcare management, budgeting, project management, and leadership.
β€’ Integrate experiential learning strategies, technology-enhanced instruction, and current industry practices into the curriculum.
β€’ Participate in the review and continuous improvement of course content, assessments, and student learning outcomes.

Advising and Mentorship
β€’ Support student engagement and success through academic advising, mentorship, and guidance on career and professional development opportunities.

Scholarship and Professional Development
β€’ Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain expertise in the field and ensure instructional relevance.
β€’ Participate in scholarly or professional activities that support continuous improvement in teaching, curriculum design, and industry engagement.

Service and Leadership
β€’ Serve on departmental, school, and institutional committees as assigned.
β€’ Contribute to accreditation activities, strategic planning, and process improvement initiatives.
β€’ Foster relationships and partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and industry professionals to enhance educational relevance and opportunities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Work Experience
β€’ Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in business, management, or a related field.
β€’ 3+ years prior teaching experience required.

Required Skills
β€’ Doctorate Required: (PhD-PA, DPA, PhD in Public Policy)
β€’ Will consider with work history and concentration: PhD in Nonprofit Management, Philanthropy, or Public Affairs-Nonprofit Track only.

Preferred Skills
β€’ Professional certifications such as CPA, PMP, Lean, or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are preferred.
β€’ Online teaching experience is highly desirable.
