ADA Access Consultant

The ADA Access Consultant will assist in the delivery of ADA contracts, conducting evaluations onsite and producing reports, while collaborating with various stakeholders to integrate accessibility into projects.ResponsibilitiesConduct ADA/ABA/FHA evaluation onsiteProduce executive summary reportsProvide technical recommendations and remediation plans for correcting accessibility deficiencies, prioritizing based on risk, cost, and impactServe as a subject-matter expert on ADA and other applicable laws (e.g., Section 504/508, Architectural Barriers Act), standards (e.g., ICC A117.1), and best practices in accessible design and inclusive environmentsCollaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, facilities managers, legal/compliance teams, and other stakeholders to integrate accessibility into projects and operationsDevelop and deliver training, informational materials, and resources on accessibility requirements, inclusive design, and the organization’s accessibility policiesMonitor evolving accessibility regulations, standards and assistive technologies; advise the organization on changes and implicationsProvide consultation on procurement of goods, services, or digital solutions to ensure accessibility is integrated from the startWork with partners across multiple business units and geographies to assist with business development and large pursuitsActively participate in professional associations and civic organizations within the communityTravel regularly to various locations across the United StatesSkillsBachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, accessibility / disability studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 1 to 3 years of professional experience in accessibility consulting, design review, accessibility auditing, or related areaDemonstrated experience applying accessibility standards and regulations (ADA Titles II & III, FHA, Section 504/508, ICC A117.1, relevant state/local codes)Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)Valid driver's license, along with successfully passing the company's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checkCertification such as IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Certified Access Specialist (CASp), or similar accessibility credentialExperience in sectors such as higher education, healthcare, multi-family housing, government/public facilitiesFamiliarity with assistive technologies and inclusive design principlesExperience with digital accessibility (web, documents, forms) in relation to WCAG standards, in addition to built-environment accessibilityReview architectural plans, construction documents, and renovation projects for accessibility compliance during design and construction phasesBuild relationships and grow clientele in various accessibility markets, including architectural, municipalities, digital, museums/heritage, medical, events, transportation, education, and leisureBenefitsEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insuranceHoliday, vacation, and sick leaveTraining and education401(k) planCompany OverviewMatrix Design Group, Inc. is a civil engineering firm based in Colorado, Georgia, Arizona, Alabama, Florida, Kansas, and Florida.
