Actuarial Analyst
Raymond James is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Actuarial Analyst to join their retirement consulting team. In this role, you will support consultants and senior analysts in delivering high-quality actuarial and retirement plan services to clients, applying mathematical, statistical, and financial techniques to manage the design, funding, and compliance of retirement plans.ResponsibilitiesConducting analysis of financial and demographic data to assess risk and make informed decisionsAssisting in actuarial projects and contributing to team initiativesGaining exposure to actuarial modeling techniques for future advanced responsibilitiesExploring career paths within the actuarial field and setting goals for professional growthParticipating in team discussions to share insights and learn from experienced professionalsAssist in conducting actuarial valuations for pension plansPerform actuarial calculations for pension benefit accrual and contributionsContribute to the preparation of government filings and compliance reportsSpecified projects and varied assignments relating to the actuarial practiceWorks independently on assigned projects and tasks, meeting all delivery deadlinesOperates standard office equipment and uses required software applicationsPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assignedSkillsBachelor's: Actuarial ScienceBachelor's: MathematicsAny equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human ResourcesGeneral Experience - 7 to 12 monthsBasic actuarial concepts including interest theory, life contingencies and mortalityCommunication skill, both written and verbal, internally and externallyMathematical and Statistical concepts such as probability, calculus, and discrete mathematicsFundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environmentBasic concepts, principles, and practices of an assigned business unitMicrosoft office suite products (word, excel, power point)Complex computations and analytical techniquesMathematics, business and economicsProblem SolvingOperating standard office equipment and using, or having the ability to learn, required software applicationsAbility to work effectively as part of a virtual/hybrid teamAnalytically synthesize complex data into effective results oriented communicationsUse Microsoft excel or other tools to derive important results from large complex data setsOrganize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlinesCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writingWork independently and collaboratively within a team environmentProvide a high level of customer serviceEstablish and maintain effective working relationshipsActuarial exam progress is preferredCompany OverviewRaymond James provides a range of investment banking services focused on the telecommunications and communications sectors.
