About the position

Wisteria Place is currently seeking an Activities Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, their families, and our community. This part-time position is ideal for individuals who are energetic, personable, enthusiastic, creative, and imaginative. The Activities Assistant will work closely with the Activities Director to create a multi-faceted daily and monthly calendar that is appropriate for all care levels, ensuring that events encourage resident individuality, participation, and leadership. The role involves assisting the Activities Director in leading activities and encouraging resident participation, as well as contributing to the planning and implementation of activities that meet the interests of all residents. The Activities Assistant will continually promote and encourage resident participation in activities and events, leading programs in a timely manner. This position also involves seeking to find the motivation in each resident that will entice them to participate or be an active member in activities and events. Additionally, the Activities Assistant will help provide opportunities for residents to engage in various community projects in the surrounding area. Administrative tasks such as posting daily calendars, maintaining and updating resident sign-up sheets, and ordering supplies will also be part of the responsibilities. If applicable, the Activities Assistant may transport residents to various functions using company vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess effective oral and written language skills, demonstrate knowledge of the physical and emotional aspects of aging, and have the ability to motivate and positively influence residents. Prior experience in group socialization or recreational programs is preferred but not required. Responsibilities
• Participates with the Activities Director in creating a multi-faceted daily/monthly calendar appropriate for all care levels.

• Assists the Activities Director in leading activities and encourages resident participation.

• Assists with designated administrative tasks such as posting daily calendars and maintaining resident sign-up sheets.

• Participates in the creation, planning, and implementation of activities to meet the interests of all residents.

• Contributes to the creation of the daily/monthly activities calendar.

• Promotes and encourages resident participation in activities and events.

• Leads activities and conducts programs in a timely manner.

• Seeks to find motivation in each resident to encourage participation in activities/events.

• Helps provide opportunities for residents to engage in community projects.

• Transports residents to various functions using company vehicles, if applicable.

Requirements
• High School diploma or GED.
,
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
,
• Ability to communicate intentions and directions to residents and staff effectively.
,
• Demonstrates effective oral and written language skills.
,
• Possesses knowledge of the physical and emotional aspects of aging.
,
• Ability to motivate and positively influence residents.
