Activities Assistant- Memory Care

Savant Senior Living is an Assisted Living Facility focused on enhancing the quality of life for residents. The Activities Assistant will plan and facilitate engaging activities and programs, working closely with the Activities Director to create a vibrant social and recreational environment for older adults.ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning, coordination, and implementation of a diverse range of activities and programs tailored to the needs and interests of the residentsEngage residents in recreational, social, cultural, and educational activities, fostering a sense of purpose, social connection, and enjoymentCollaborate with the Activities Director to develop monthly activity calendars and ensure a variety of options for residents to participate inSet up activity areas, gather necessary supplies, and organize materials for each activityGuide and assist residents during activities, ensuring their safety and engagementEncourage and support residents in participating in activities, adapting programs as needed for individuals with varying abilitiesMaintain accurate records of resident participation and provide feedback to Activities Director regarding residents’ preferences and engagement levelsEscort residents to and from activities, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphereAssist in decorating common areas for seasonal events and social occasionsSupport and encourage resident involvement in community outings and off-site activitiesAdhere to safety and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and clean environment during activitiesPerform other related responsibilities as neededSkillsAt least 18 years of ageRequired Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record ClearancePrevious experience in a similar role, preferably in an assisted living or senior care settingUnderstanding of social, emotional, and physical needs of older adultsCreativity and the ability to develop engaging and meaningful activities for residents of varying interests and abilitiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact compassionately and effectively with residents, families, and staffEmpathy, patience, and the ability to provide emotional support and encouragement to residentsFlexibility in working non-traditional hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as neededAble to drive community van/busAble to assist residents entering and exiting van/busStamina and physical fitnessStrength and dexterityMobility and range of motionEnduranceAbility to lift and carry up to 50lbsAdditional certifications or education in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field is a plusAny special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified)Company OverviewSavant Senior Living is a healthcare center that offers senior living, senior health and medical care options, and assisted living services.
