Position Overview and Responsibilities

Sentral seeks an Accounts Payable Associate candidate with an accounting, customer-service, and reporting skill set. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to be a part of a unique and rapidly growing start-up. The right candidate has a growth mindset and an entrepreneurial drive including a high tolerance for uncertainty. To be successful in this role, candidate will be extremely organized, have a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and a track record of performance.
Accounts Payable DutiesLead Vendor ComplianceSet up and maintain vendor information in Yardi and VendorCafGather required legal and insurance documentation for vendor setup Work with vendors to ensure compliance is maintainedBe the point person for vendor inquiries and own the resolution of those inquiries, including communication with the vendorEnter and code invoices accurately, identifying discrepanciesInvestigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices, including returned paymentsWork with Property Operations and the rest of the organization to ensure timely payment and responsesAssist with PO and pay system implementation and trainingAssist in implementing accounting policies and procedures related to AP Receive, research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate personsFile, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records and reportsPerform other ad-hoc duties as required in support of the Accounting Department and community teamsTreasury DutiesServe as a treasury resource for the accounting department, as well as other departments within the companyPerform treasury functions in conjunction with the Treasury Manager, including initiating EFTs, online banking administration, and decision of positive pay itemsCommunicate with banking partners as needed regarding all facets of company bank accountsPerform other ad-hoc duties as required in support of the Accounting Department and community teams
Skills and Experience
Accounting or finance degree, or relevant experience.3+ years Experience in being part of a real estate accounting team.Yardi experience is a necessityA demonstrated ability to learn new technologies & software.Experience in implementing and optimizing accounting processes.Experience in training property-level teams on accounting processes.Strong operational & customer service skills with high initiative and ability to problem solve and work independently.
