The role at a glance:
NBBJ Seattle is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Operations team. We seek someone with a can-do attitude, who enjoys the challenge of a high volume, fast moving and ever-changing design firm. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to respond quickly and tactfully to requests with kindness and compassion. In your new role you will:
Β Timely and accurate input of vendor invoices; approximately 200 -300 a month
Β Review and process employee expense reports; approximately 150 a month
Β Adhere to payment and reimbursement policies, educating employees on policies
Β Confirm invoices against budgets
Β Coordinate payments and reimbursements among our offices globally
Β Process check runs and payments via online banking systems
Β Manage payment schedules to avoid late fees and maintain positive vendor relationships.
Β Research and resolve vendor inquiries
Β Maintain documentation of AP processes
Β Assist in streamlining and improving processes based on best practices
Β Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger
Β Maintain account work papers for AP and Employee Expense general ledger accounts
Β Other duties and projects as needed
What you need to succeed
Β Minimum 3 years of Accounting and/or Accounts Payable experience
Β Associate Degree in Accounting preferred
Β General ledger and job costing experience a plus
Β Experience with multi-company and multi-currency transactions desired
Β Ability to remain professional while working under pressure to meet deadlines
Β Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
Β Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Β Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Β Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Β Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
Β Intermediate experience in Excel, including xlookup, pivot tables and formulas
The hourly pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $25 and $27. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
