Adela's mission is to deliver innovative and accessible blood tests that harness biology to transform cancer care and improve well-being. The company is developing best-in-class technology to accelerate the diagnosis and improve the management of cancer through blood tests for minimal residual disease (MRD) monitoring and multi-cancer early detection (MCED). Adela's blood-based, tissue-free product ensures universal accessibility to MRD testing for patients with cancer, eliminating any dependency on tumor tissue availability. Adela's first product was recently clinically validated for predicting and surveilling for recurrence in patients with head & neck cancer and published in Annals of Oncology.

Adela is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk and is a key member of the finance team who actively supports the day-to-day accounting function through a hands-on approach. This role is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor records, supporting payment activities, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable transactions. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be reporting to the Controller and will help maintain strong financial controls and efficient processes while providing administrative support across accounting operations. This is a remote part-time position with a max of 15 hours a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Review invoices for proper approvals and coding.
• Prepare and execute weekly payment runs.
• Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Support the Controller with various accounting and administrative tasks.
• Assist with employee expense report processing and auditing, with increased responsibility over time.
• Maintain organized electronic files and accounting documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with remote team members and external vendors.

Work Experience & Skill Requirements
• Minimum of 4 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks is required.
• Experience with Bill.com is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a remote environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting office, laboratory, biotech or life sciences environments.
• Knowledge of bill.com, quickbooks, a plus

The hourly range for this position $25/hour to $30/ hour CAD. This range reflects only the base salary component of compensation and is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements. Actual base hourly rate will be determined at the Company's discretion and may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs.
