Accounting Supervisor (Virtual, Full Time)
About the Role
We are a growing CPA firm seeking an Accounting Supervisor who thrives on accuracy, leadership, and building strong teams, not chaos or constant fire drills. This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys mentoring others, improving processes, and delivering high-quality work in a fully remote environment.
You will oversee a portfolio of clients and a team of accounting professionals, ensuring financials are accurate, deadlines are met, and clients receive proactive, professional service.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Review and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff (bookkeepers, staff accountants)
• Ensure accuracy and consistency across: (1) General ledger (2) Bank and credit card reconciliations (3) Month-end close
• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex accounting issues
• Improve workflows, documentation, and internal controls
• Collaborate with tax and advisory teams to ensure seamless client service
• Maintain strong client relationships with professionalism and confidence
• Uphold firm standards for quality, timeliness, and communication

What We’re Looking For
• 6+ years of accounting experience (CPA firm experience strongly preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
• Proven experience supervising or reviewing work
• High attention to detail with strong judgment
• Comfort working independently in a remote environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with cloud accounting tools (QBO, Xero, Bill.com, etc.)
