Accounting Manager - Practice Operations Location: Remote / New York Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: $150,000 - $225,000 Position Overview Round Hill Partners is seeking an experienced CPA to serve as Accounting Manager for our acquired accounting practices. This hands-on leadership role focuses on day-to-day practice operations, client service delivery, and team management. The Accounting Manager will serve as the operational leader and head accountant, ensuring high-quality service delivery while building strong client relationships and developing staff capabilities. Key Responsibilities Practice Operations Leadership β€’ Oversee daily operations and workflow management of the accounting practice β€’ Serve as head accountant with direct responsibility for service quality and delivery β€’ Manage client engagement processes from intake through completion β€’ Ensure adherence to professional standards and quality control procedures β€’ Monitor practice performance metrics and operational efficiency Client Service Management β€’ Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients across all service lines β€’ Oversee tax preparation, compliance, and planning services β€’ Manage financial statement preparation and review procedures β€’ Handle complex client issues and serve as primary point of contact for major accounts β€’ Drive client retention and satisfaction initiatives Team Leadership & Development β€’ Manage and develop existing accounting staff and support personnel β€’ Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship β€’ Oversee staff workload allocation and capacity planning β€’ Support professional development and continuing education initiatives β€’ Foster positive team culture and maintain high morale Technical Excellence β€’ Ensure accurate and timely completion of all client deliverables β€’ Review and approve complex tax returns and financial statements β€’ Stay current with tax law changes and accounting standards updates β€’ Implement best practices for technical quality and efficiency β€’ Maintain compliance with all regulatory and professional requirements Business Development Support β€’ Support client development and referral generation activities β€’ Participate in networking events and professional organizations β€’ Identify opportunities for service expansion with existing clients β€’ Collaborate with Practice Leader on growth strategies and initiatives Preferred Qualifications β€’ CPA certification (active and in good standing) β€’ 5-8 years of progressive public accounting experience β€’ 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience β€’ Strong technical expertise across core accounting services β€’ Experience managing client relationships and service delivery Technical Skills β€’ Expert-level proficiency in tax preparation and compliance β€’ Strong financial statement preparation and review capabilities β€’ Proficiency with accounting software and practice management systems β€’ Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements across service lines β€’ Advanced Excel skills and financial analysis capabilities Leadership & Soft Skills β€’ Strong leadership and team management abilities β€’ Excellent client communication and relationship management skills β€’ Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities β€’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively β€’ Problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex client issues β€’ Commitment to professional development and continuous learning What We Offer β€’ Performance-based incentive opportunities β€’ Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance β€’ Professional development and continuing education support β€’ Clear advancement opportunities within growing platform β€’ Supportive leadership structure with operational autonomy Apply tot his job Apply tot his job
