Accounting Associate
Harvard Management Company (HMC) manages Harvard University's endowment and related financial assets. The Accounting Associate will be responsible for the daily accounting and reporting of investment-related accounts, support month-end and year-end closes, and assist with financial statement audits.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the daily accounting and reporting of certain investment related accountsProvide timely direction and guidance to HMC’s fund administrator on their execution of transactions and valuations to ensure accounting and performance records are maintained accuratelyAssist in the monitoring and processing of accounts payable for the management companyReview travel & expense reporting for all internal employeesOwnership of vendor management and invoice resolution for the management companyAssist with month-end and year-end close procedures for the investment and non-investment accounts, including general ledger account reconciliationsAssist with preparation for annual fiscal year closes, various audits, and the management company budget process as neededSkillsB.S. in AccountingPrevious experience working in a corporate office environment (preferably in an accounting-related function)Proficiency with MS ExcelDetail-oriented and organized, with consistently high-quality workFlexible and able to adjust to changing priorities and deliverablesEffective communication skillsTeam-oriented and relationship-driven, with a practical, solutions-focused approachMust be a creative problem solver who leverages AI/data optimization to improve processesHighest level of integrity and character, and a commitment to excellenceBenefitsAnnual bonusCompany OverviewHarvard Management Company is an organization that manages the financial investments of the Harvard University.
