The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of GAAP and be excited to take ownership of key areas of the accounting process in a fast-paced, creative environment.You will report directly to the VP, Corporate Controller, and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities. This role requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of GAAP, as you'll support accurate financial reporting and help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:Prepare and post journal entries for routine and non-routine transactionsPerform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close proceduresReconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepanciesEnsure accurate classification and recording of revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilitiesAnalyze financial data and provide variance explanations to managementAssist in preparing internal financial statements and supporting schedulesMaintain documentation and audit trails for journal entries and account reconciliationsSupport internal and external audit processes, including providing schedules and explanationsAssist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and proceduresCollaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and FinOps to ensure proper coding and completeness of transactionsReview and maintain accruals, deferrals, and prepaid expensesMonitor compliance with GAAP and internal controlsParticipate in system upgrades, testing, and process improvement initiativesSupport ad hoc financial projects, reports, and analyses as requested by managementThings That Should Be in Your Background:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required3–5 years of relevant work experienceCPA designation preferredStrong technical research skills and accounting knowledgeSolid understanding of US GAAPExperience with Sage Intacct preferredExcellent analytical and interpersonal skillsProficiency in all MS Office applications; strong knowledge of Excel requiredOther Attributes That Will Help You in This Role:Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and see projects through to completionStrong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectivelyIntuition and awareness to seek clarification when needed to deliver accurate resultsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEnthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, high-growth environmentHigh ethical standards with strong integrity, confidentiality, and attention to qualityCommitment to maintaining the highest degree of security and confidentiality of informationYou’ll love working hereCompetitive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability InsuranceGenerous Vacation & Holidays, Paid Parental Leave401K Plan with Employer MatchDiscounted Stock Purchase PlanAnnual Education Allowance, Fitness Reimbursement, & other lifestyle supportAnd this is how we bring our values to life at #TeamIZEAOur team is our heart and creative spirit, each bringing their diverse backgrounds, talents, and perspectives to their roles.
