Accountant

Allianz Commercial is a center of expertise within Allianz Group, focusing on insuring mid-sized businesses and special risks. They are seeking an Accountant to support accounting activities for financial statement preparation and consolidation for North American entities, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and improving financial reporting processes. Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements on an IFRS basis, including completion of ECCS submissions to Allianz Commercial Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements (Yellow books) for the insurance companies and completes reconciliations between IFRS and statutory reporting Draft Footnote disclosures and management discussions and analysis for regulatory reporting Prepare consolidated audited financial statements and coordinates audit requests within Finance, Underwriting and Claims Monitor changes to IFRS reporting requirements and ensure compliance with accounting policy Participate in daily close meetings and assists in monitoring timeliness of close processes and identifying items for discussion or resolution Identify and execute on process improvements to minimize manual efforts and focus on automation or semi-automation of processes Manage to the data quality standards within the team to meet regulatory requirements and internal reporting needs Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities Key contact for other functions regarding accounting results, processes, and internal controls Drive both global and local initiatives as needed Correspond and answer inquiries with third-party entities, including auditors, business units, tax authorities, public authorities, and others Skills 1-3 years experience in Financial Statement preparation 1-3 years experience working for an international organization 1-3 years experience in insurance accounting experience, including knowledge of US statutory and GAAP accounting principles Knowledge of IFRS is a plus Bachelor's Degree in Accounting The ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making is valuable External applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada without the need for current or future employment-based sponsorship Candidates selected for this role will be required to undergo a background check Benefits Annual performance-based cash incentive awards Generous bonus scheme Pension Private healthcare Generous parental leave benefits Company Overview Allianz Commercial is the center of expertise and global line of Allianz Group for insuring mid-sized businesses, large enterprises and specialist risks.
