Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee the accounting team, managing junior and senior accountants to ensure smooth financial operationsSupervise accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactionsLead bank and credit card reconciliations and financial statement reviews
Develop and implement financial policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company proceduresConduct performance reviews, provide training, and mentor team members for skill enhancement and career growthHandle complex accounting queries, addressing bookkeeping concerns and pending transactionsEnsure accuracy in vendor & utility bill postings, AP pay runs, and payroll processing via Intuit/GustoOversee financial reporting, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and property distributionsManage move-out accounting, bill backs, journal entries, accruals, and HUD statement entriesCoordinate management fee pulls and property packet preparation
Collaborate with leadership to strategize financial improvements and optimize workflowsMaintain clear and professional communication regarding all financial operationsUtilize accounting software such as AppFolio, Buildium, Yardi, RentManager, and QuickBooks Online efficientlyDrive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline team operationsReview and supervise timesheets of team members, ensuring accuracy of approved billable hours
Ideal Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations, especially for property accountingStrong leadership and team management abilitiesExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keepingStrong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with team members and leadershipProficiency in MS Excel and cloud-based accounting software; experience withQuickBooks Online is required, Yardi is a plusAbility to handle pressure and meet deadlines efficientlyAdaptability to a multicultural, remote work environment

Employment Type: Independent Contractor, Full-time (AM) or Part-time (Consultant)Schedule: U.S. business hours (EST, CST, MST, PST)
