Account & Business Development Manager - ASEAN
Mecademic develops compact, precise, and innovative robotic automation solutions for the electronics and life sciences sectors. Our ultra-compact robotic arms are used worldwide by OEMs, system integrators, and end-users for tasks requiring precision and reliability in automation.
Your Role
We are seeking a results-driven Account & Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) market. The role involves a strategic balance of recruiting, managing and growing existing key machine builders, integrators and OEM accounts while actively driving new end-user (manufacturers) business acquisition through strategic prospecting and sales initiatives.
This position may involve managing distributors in the region, and may also include supporting key opportunities in India and/or China.
Your Main Responsibilities
β Business Development: identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities and develop the partners network within the designated territory
β Key Account Management: nurture and expand relationships with an existing portfolio of key accounts and partners
β Channel Partner Management: develop and manage the network of partners across the ASEAN region
β Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a sales strategy and action plan to achieve sales targets
β Negotiation & Closing: lead contract negotiations, prepare proposals, and close sales deals, ensuring profitability and legal compliance.
β Market Intelligence: Serve as the regional expert, monitor market trends, and customer needs to inform product and sales strategies.
β Reporting: maintain accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline information, activities, and forecasts in the CRM system
Your Profile
You hold a Bachelorβs degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field, and have confirmed experience (5 years or more) in a similar role, ideally in automation, robotics or related industrial technology sector.
Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Malay, Vietnamese or Mandarin is a significant advantage for daily client communication.
Your Technical Skills:
β Proven ability to manage the entire sales cycle
β Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for B2B executives
β Proficient user of CRM software for pipeline management and accurate forecasting
β Proven success in managing and growing relationships with large industrial customers
β Technical knowledge of robots or automation systems
β Proven understanding of the ASEAN business environment and cultural nuances is highly desirable
β Autonomous, proactive, and results-oriented with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
Job Conditions
Full-time permanent remote position, to be filled as soon as possible
Ability to travel frequently across the ASEAN region to meet clients and partners Compensation based on profile and experience. This is a commission based position.
Requires living in the ASEAN region (ideally Malaysia) and having a valid work permit
