Academic Advisor 2 - Computer Science
The University of Houston is hiring an Academic Advisor 2 for the Computer Science Department. The role involves advising enrolled and prospective students on academic programs, processing admissions and graduation paperwork, and supporting retention efforts from admission through graduation.
Highlights
ā¢ Advise current and prospective graduate students on admissions, academic policies, degree plans, and career goals.
ā¢ Process graduate admissions applications, graduation applications, grade changes, and petitions.
ā¢ Maintain and update student records and files throughout academic careers.
ā¢ Provide retention services including readmission from suspension and financial aid reinstatement.
ā¢ Assist with orientation sessions, recruitment presentations, student workshops, and seminars.
ā¢ Preferred experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other ERP systems like Ellucian Banner.
ā¢ Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software and strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
ā¢ Requires a four-year degree or equivalent specialized training and at least three years of relevant experience.
ā¢ Salary commensurate with experience and education.
ā¢ Role is within the Computer Science Department supporting academic and program management.
