Job description: St. Joan of Arc is seeking a full-time, faith-filled 4th Grade Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position involves teaching in a self-contained classroom, teaching various subjects to a 4th Grade homeroom, including Religion.The teacher candidate should be able to:
Promote the mission and vision of St. Joan of Arc School and the Catholic Church.
Be committed and passionate about Catholic education.
Create a consistently high level of student engagement and learning.
Hold a teaching certificate and have endorsements in their major subject area, if applicable.
Be comfortable sharing their faith with their students.
Differentiate instruction within the classroom to meet the needs of all students.
Establish positive relationships with students.
Set high standards for student behavior and manage inappropriate behavior effectively to maintain a consistent disciplinary approach that promotes self-direction and confidence.
Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues.
Cooperate with school administration to complete additional operational and professional responsibilities and duties, as needed.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and interactive whiteboard technology.
All teachers in the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan.
