Job Title: Middle School Adjunct Educator - Launch
Department: Launch Virtual Learning
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Launch Administration
Pay: $826 - $2,715 based on student enrollment per course (see Learning Academies)
GENERAL PURPOSE
This position will deliver and provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for developing student success in academics and/or skills; supervising students in online settings; collaborating with teachers, professional staff and administrators to deliver pre-designed curriculum and course work; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from studentsā parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress. Launch teachers are expected to be positive promoters of online learning opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
ā¢ Administers subject specific assignments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels.
ā¢ Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations and studentsā achievements and developing methods for improvement.
ā¢ Analyzes performance data for the purpose of enhancing student achievement.
ā¢ Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations and/or goals for the purpose of providing regular, high-quality feedback to students, parents and administration.
ā¢ Collaborates with Launch Online Staff, curriculum facilitators, other school personnel, and parents for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes and achieving established major instructional goals.
ā¢ Demonstrates methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignments for the purpose of providing an effective education that addresses individual student learning.
ā¢ Facilitates student learning (e.g. creating a learning environment, integrating technology, encouraging learning environment, facilitates collaboration) in pre-designed course for the purpose of achieving success in academic, interpersonal and daily living skills through pre-determined learning outcomes.
ā¢ Maintains a variety of confidential and non-confidential files and records (e.g. grades, test scores, attendance, anecdotal records, lesson plans) for the purposes of providing up-to-date information, historical reference and documenting student progress in accordance with established guidelines and legal requirements.
ā¢ Monitors students and manages student behavior in an online environment for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
ā¢ Participates in a variety of trainings and meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform duties as assigned.
ā¢ Reports health and safety issues to administrative personnel and/or appropriate agencies for the purpose of maintaining studentsā personal safety, a positive learning environment and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines and legal requirements.
ā¢ Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
ā¢ Bachelorās degree in job-related area, required.
ā¢ Job related experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements
ā¢ Missouri 5-9 Teaching Certificate, required
ā¢ Ability to gain and maintain "Highly Qualified" status as defined by Missouri's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, required.
ā¢ Background clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required
ā¢ Must have consistent access to high-speed internet and be able to provide your own device.
ā¢ Must reside in the State of Missouri. Exceptions may exist for teachers employed with Missouri Launch partner districts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
ā¢ Knowledge is required to deliver age-appropriate lessons with clear objectives and relevant measurable outcomes facilitate group rehearsals and instruction; incorporate appropriate technology; communicate high standards and expectations for each lesson; create an environment conducive to learning; provide relevant feedback to students; manage classroom routines and behavior.
ā¢ Skills are required to perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: maintaining organized records, preparing and maintaining accurate records; applying assessment instruments; and operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications.
ā¢ Ability is required to gather, collate and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: developing and maintaining positive relationships; setting high expectations for self and others; setting and monitoring progress toward goals; utilizing and offering effective feedback to continuously improve; collaborating and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders; applying critical thinking/problem solving to improve work processes; adapting to changing work priorities; maintaining confidentiality; exhibiting tact and patience; and working flexible hours.
ā¢ Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organizationās services.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
ā¢ Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
ā¢ The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
ā¢ Must possess the physical ability to work primarily with fingers, perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
ā¢ Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, manual dexterity, mental acuity, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
