About the position

Principal's goal for the Accounting Rotation Development Program (“ARDP”) is to build a strong pipeline of dynamic Accounting and Financial employees who have gained broad and challenging experiences across the enterprise. The ARDP is a two to three-year program for early career associates focused on accelerating the development of accounting and other career skills through rotational experiences, active networking, and delivering valued business results. During the program, associates rotate through multiple business or functional areas for six to nine months at a time. The Accounting Rotation Development Program Offers: Cross-functional rotations ranging six to nine months in length. Each rotation is designed to help you leverage and develop accounting and other career skills, as well as an understanding of the different businesses and accounting areas of Principal, while delivering on key initiatives for the assignment. Through rotational experiences, individuals will receive enterprise exposure. Position could include experiences in financial and management reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, investment accounting, taxes etc. The opportunity to learn about our business, company culture and what it takes to succeed in our accounting organization. Upon successful completion of the program our goal is to support you in attaining placement within Principal to continue your career path.

Responsibilities
• Participate in cross-functional rotations ranging six to nine months in length.
• Leverage and develop accounting and other career skills.
• Gain understanding of different businesses and accounting areas of Principal.
• Deliver on key initiatives for the assignment.
• Network and gain in-depth knowledge about the company culture and leadership.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required.
• Desire to learn and be challenged.
• Strong sense of accountability with strong time management skills.
• Ability to work on a team and be adaptable, resourceful, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work within gray areas and self-starter with ambiguous projects.
• Resilient to change and responsive to feedback.
• Interest in developing informal leadership skills.
• Recognizes value in networking and relationship building across business areas.

Nice-to-haves
• Previous Principal Financial Group Accounting/Finance internship or similar work experience preferred.
