As an EMA, you will play a critical role in resolving disputes related to reimbursement, differing opinions between healthcare providers, and complex healthcare matters.
Key Responsibilities:
ā¢ Provide expert medical opinions to resolve disputes regarding workers compensation cases, including issues of treatment necessity, disability determination, and return-to-work capabilities.
ā¢ Serve as a neutral third-party expert when there is a disagreement between independent medical examiners or healthcare providers.
ā¢ Offer testimony in legal settings when doctors disagree on medical evidence or treatment recommendations.
ā¢ Your medical opinion will be given a legal presumption of correctness unless clear and convincing evidence to the contrary is presented.
