The professional registered nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for the nursing care provided to a selected number of patients. The scope of practice includes diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being.QualificationsResponsibilities:Education Required
Must complete in-house orientation program
Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (Baccalaureate Degree in nursing preferred)
Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing)
Experience And Skills
Speaks, reads and writes English
Clinical experience/skills relevant to the assigned area of practice
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Computer proficiency
License/Certifications
Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
Certifications required for assigned area of practice:
BLS - all
NRP – labor and delivery/Nsy/Maternity
PALS – pediatrics only
ACLS – labor and delivery

Frequent, prolonged standing/walking
Lifts, positions and/or transfers patients/equipment
Protective clothing/equipment worn
